Watching "Blood Diamond"
No wonder why this movie wont be nominated for Oscars. The 2006 released movie (I was late watching it) set in the backdrop of civil war in Africa shows how the diamonds are used by western influential powers to indirectly sponsor wars in poor countries. It was like innocent people over there(Africa) are living to be killed by someone for his selfish needs. The plight of small children being forcibly inducted into revolutionary army, with guns in their hand, trained to kill, shows the brutality of a man over other. The characters of Leonardo di Caprio and Djimon Hounsou(African born actor) were splendid. But the plot being prolonged for a small extent seems to make movie a bit lackluster and you may raise your fingers on some scenes like, both the protagonists crossing the battle laden streets swiftly being untouched by a single round and the local tribal protecting their village with guns easily believe the white (alien) people as journalists(pretending). But the climax being well judged makes a happy ending for the movie.
A good to watch movie so to say...
