Job Description – are all JD’s Authentic ?

Well, no I am not going to discuss on what a JD a.k.a. Job Description is or how it is prepared. We are going to discuss if a JD that a company posts in a job site can really be an authentic one. I know most of us are smart enough to understand about a JD while attending   an interview, but what do we do when we come across circumstances where the job you are hired for does not match with the JD mentioned in the job portal !   Hmm, you may ask me a question now – “What the no sense deal are you talking about?”   It’s a general human tendency to do a bit of research or approach known contacts inside the prospective hiring company to enquire about the company, its policies, the approach of management towards employees and other key aspects like salary revision policies etc., before taking the leap of getting hired by a new company. More than 60% of employees searching for new jobs tend to leave a company due to job dis-satisfaction.   But we generally ten...

Friendship - A Short Story - Part 2

Yes he was hurt and yes he was angry. And it is true that sometimes in the flow of time it reminds him of the pain. But it’s not too much. It’s common for being a human. And that was a past tense. He has learnt to take things easy and light. The baggage is long dropped. Now that he is having a life of his own is the evidence that he has returned to  a stage where Life has its own flow. Yes he was hurt and yes he was angry. But he never had grudges or qualms against anyone. People have come and People have gone. He never stopped anyone from being his friend. People have their own choices and have their own limitations, and he respect’s each one of them. Yes he was hurt and yes he was angry. But he still longs for Friendship. It is friendship which defines the state of deep understanding. In friendship the hurting is mutual and so is forgiveness. We are in a world full of uncertainty. And Friendship is the only binding factor between us.

Friendship - A Short Story - Part 1

Few days back I got this mail from one of my friend. And as I felt that it holds true for all, so I wanted to share it with you. Following is what one must look into FRIENDSHIP as: A Story tells that two friends were walking through the Desert. During some point of the Journey, they had an argument and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand - TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE. They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone - TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE. The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, Why?" The other friend replied, "When someone hurts us, we should write it dow...

Carpooling

Roads now a days are full of cars. Thanks to our growing economy, people from upper middle class own at least one car each. But in major cities people prefer to travel by car for offices. Take for instance in Bangalore, one single car carries only one person, and a car occupies space equal to two motor bikes and two cars back to back occupy the space of a metro transport bus on the road. People feel it's a safest way to go by car and they are ready to bear the burgeoning traffic on road, resulting in increasing pollution, late going to offices or early start from homes. There's a solution to all this which is the oldest method adopted by rich countries in the world, it's called carpooling . One car can be shared by two or more people going to same destination, hence saving in fuel, money, reduce pollution, and reduce in commute time in turn spend more time at work and with family. You have other options too like cycling, walking or a two wheeler, but this depends on indivi...

" A teacher from Primary School asks her students to write an essay about what they would like God to do for them... At the end of the day, while marking the essays, she read one that made her very emotional. Her husband, who had just walked in, saw her crying and asked her:- 'What happened?' She answered- 'Read this. It is one of my students' essay.' 'Oh God, tonight I ask you something very special : Make me into a television. I want to take its place and live like the TV in my house. Have my own special place, And have my family around ME. To be taken seriously when I talk.... I want to be the centre of attention and be heard without interruptions or questions. I want to receive the same special care that theTV recei...
